Ngaire Ruth

Welcome to Ngaire Ruth’s Control Room where you can find some of the best of my writing and research, from the archives and current. I’m an academic and lecturer with a particular interest in research that supports women vocalists and producers. I’ve been a feminist music critic for thirty years, starting at the Melody Maker pre-digital and post digital as section editor for thegirlsare online magazine, the F Word, and other publications. The journey has involved lots of reading of feminist and music resources, which I share in my book, Taking Control: Manifesto Of A Girl Journalist In The 90s, a current writing project. Read more archive reviews and creative non fiction, along with a book synopsis on Substack and register interest in purchasing your own printed copy at ngaireruthsbook@gmail.com
